K of C Assembly #2243

The Knights of Columbus is a Catholic fraternal order dedicated to the ideals of Columbianism: Charity, Unity, Fraternity, and Patriotism. We serve our fellow Knights, families, Parish, Church, and community.

Any Third Degree member in good standing, one year after the anniversary of his First Degree, is eligible for membership in the Fourth Degree per the by-laws.

However, for the last four years Supreme Knight Nestor Barber has given dispensation to this by-law by allowing members in good standing with six months service from their First Degree date to become eligible for Fourth Degree membership. This is not a change to the by-law and is approved on an annual basis. In addition, the District Master must submit a dispensation request by individual for his approval.

The primary purpose of the Fourth Degree is to foster the spirit of patriotism by promoting responsible citizenship and a love of and loyalty to the Knights' respective countries through active membership in local Fourth Degree groups (called "assemblies"). Certain members of the Fourth Degree serve as honor guards at civic and religious functions, an activity that has brought worldwide recognition to the Knights of Columbus.

Assembly regular meetings are every 3rd Tuesday of the month at the St. Basil Council #4204 Knights of Columbus Hall adjacent to St. Theresa's Church at the address above. Meetings start with a social at 7 p.m. followed by a light meal from 7:30 to 8:00 p.m. at which time the meeting will be called to order.
